You burst into a thousand glistening feathers
As your soul shot up to the sky.
They flew all over, directed by the wind.
Into the outstretched arms of those you left.
There is an infinite amount of feathers.
An infinite amount of lives you touched.
From something as basic as a smile in a hallway
To the complexity of helping those in need.
The feathers range from grand to small
But they all have something in common.
They hold a brilliant radiance
that cannot even be described by human tounge.
These feathers catch your falling tears
And tell you in an echoing voice,
"Though physically she is gone,
Carry me with you.
And she will never disappear from us
You are not alone.
She is watching."

On January 13 of this year, one of my close friends, Lyla Stern passed away. She was at the young age of 16 with dreams of the future that will never come true now. This is a poem i wrote dedicated to her and everyone who misses her.
Her 17th birthday would be is coming up soon so i guess i'll take this opportunity to tell her Happy Birthday.
